MARLBORO — A 60-year-old man from New Hampshire was involved in a single-vehicle crash in Marlboro yesterday.

The crash took place on Vermont Route 9 just west of Adams Cross Road at around 10:20 a.m.

The Saturn Ion had left the traveled portion of the road and careened approximately 25 feet down an embankment.

While speaking with the driver, Gary Friedrich, of Keene, NH, police say they detected indicators of alcohol impairment.

Friedrich was transported to Brattleboro Memorial Hospital where he was medically evaluated and released.

He was then transported to the Vermont State Police Westminster barracks and processed for DUI.

He was issued a citation to appear in court on November 7.
