Fugitive from justice arrested in Woodstock

WOODSTOCK –– A fugitive from justice was apprehended in a coordinated effort by the Windsor County Sheriff’s Department and Hartford Probation and Parole Office on Sept. 11.

The accused, identified as David Durkee, 36, of Tunbridge, was arrested at a Rite Aid in Windsor.

Sheriff Palmer and Deputy Harvey executed the arrest in connection with a felony warrant issued from New Hampshire, where Durkee faces drug possession charges. Following his arrest,

Durkee was transported to the Hartford Police Department and then lodged at SSCF due to lack of $10,000 bail.

Durkee is scheduled to appear before the Windsor County Superior Court on Sept. 13 at 12:30 p.m.

The Windsor County Sheriff’s Department, which also provides security at the state office complex in Hartford housing DCF, P&P, and other offices, confirmed the arrest.
