Fugitive arrested for stolen property possession in Windsor

WINDSOR –– A Vermont man, wanted as a fugitive from justice and for possession of stolen property, was arrested in Windsor Monday evening, according to Sheriff Palmer.

Ryan Buckley, 35, of Killington and Hartford, was observed by Sheriff Palmer pulling into a Rite Aid pharmacy in Windsor at 5:56 p.m. on Sept. 11.

Recognizing Buckley from a warrant issued by the Windsor County Sheriff’s Department, Sheriff Palmer approached and subsequently arrested him.

Buckley was cited for possession of stolen property, but during the arrest process, authorities discovered an extraditable warrant out of New Hampshire for possessing a stolen vehicle.

Following his arrest, Buckley was transported to the Windsor Police Department and then lodged at Southern State Correctional Facility in lieu of $2,500 bail.

Buckley is scheduled to appear in Windsor County Superior Court at 12:30 p.m. on Sept. 12 to respond to the charges.
