Lyndonville man faces DUI charge

ST. JOHNSBURY –– A Lyndonville man was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving after being stopped for speeding on Memorial Drive, police said.

Jeffrey C. Mitchell, 36, was pulled over around 9 p.m. on Sept. 9 by Officer Steven Hartwell, according to a press release from the St. Johnsbury Police Department.

Following an investigation, Mitchell was taken into custody on suspicion of operating under the influence of alcohol.

Mitchell is facing his third DUI charge, police said. He was also issued Vermont Civil Violation Complaints for speeding and operating after suspension.

He is scheduled to appear in Caledonia Court at 8:30 a.m. on Sept. 25 to answer to the charge.

Mitchell was not lodged and no bail was set.
