Nashua man charged with DUI, leaving scene of seven-car accident

NASHUA –– A local man is facing charges after allegedly driving while intoxicated and leaving the scene of a seven-vehicle accident Wednesday evening.

Nashua Fire Rescue, AMR ambulance, and Nashua Police responded to multiple reports of a multi-vehicle accident around 7 p.m. at the intersection of Coliseum Avenue and Broad Street.

Upon arrival, authorities discovered seven vehicles involved in the accident, with several occupants sustaining injuries.

Emergency personnel from Nashua Fire Rescue and AMR ambulance worked to evaluate, treat, and triage those injured in the crash.

Police officers observed Ryan Ferguson, 38, of Nashua, walking away from the scene of the accident.

He later returned, according to Nashua Police Sergeant John Cinelli. Cinelli noted that Ferguson appeared intoxicated. After further investigation, police determined Ferguson was at fault for the accident, which resulted in significant damage to several vehicles.

Ferguson was subsequently arrested and charged. He was released on bail pending his arraignment.
