Man seriously injured during crash in Arlington

ARLINGTON — A 34-year-old man from Alabama was seriously injured during a crash in Arlington yesterday.

Authorities say they were notified by an off-duty trooper about a Jeep unable to maintain its lane driving south on Vermont Route 7a at around 9:15 p.m.

Police say they located the Jeep driving on Vermont Route 7a near Old West Road.

The Jeep sped up, lost control around the corner, and ultimately struck a telephone pole causing the vehicle to land on its side.

The driver was identified as Joshua McQueen, of Theodore, Alabama who was airlifted to the Albany Medical Center.

Troopers on the scene were assisted by the Arlington Fire Department, Arlington Rescue Squad, Shaftsbury Fire Department, and Green Mountain Power.
