Shooting reported in Manchester, police seek witnesses

MANCHESTER –– A man was shot in the leg following a physical altercation at a Manchester apartment early Tuesday morning, according to Manchester Police.

Officers responded to a reported shooting at 88 Ash St. around 1:20 a.m. on August 29.

The victim, who had left the scene and met police nearby, was found to have a gunshot wound to his leg.

He declined medical treatment.

Police said the victim and several others had been involved in a physical fight at the Ash Street address earlier in the evening.

During the fight, the victim was shot but managed to leave the apartment and call the police.

Due to potential threats of guns inside the residence, a SWAT team was dispatched to the location.

A woman emerged from the apartment, however, no other individuals were found on the premises.

Upon further examination, police discovered a hole in a bedroom door, believed to have been caused by a bullet.
