BURKE — A 25-year-old man from Derby was killed during a work-related accident in Burke on Sunday.
Authorities say they were notified of the incident at an apartment complex on U.S. Route 5 at around 11:15 a.m.
The victim, identified as Casey Driver, was performing roof work for Vincent’s Carpentry of Derby at around 11:15 a.m.
Police say he struck a high-tension power line with a metal ladder, causing an electric shock and a fall of 25 to 30 feet off the roof.
Driver was pronounced deceased on the scene.
Lyndonville Ambulance was called to the scene.
Police say they are investigating this incident, and no further information is available at this time.
