Gymnastics coach accused of voyeurism at Central Vermont Academy

BARRE — A Massachusetts gymnastics coach was accused of voyeurism at a local academy during the week of July 10-14, 2023, according to a report received by the Berlin Barracks on July 15.

Jonathan Girard, 39, of North Adams, Massachusetts, allegedly made video recordings in the bathroom of Central Vermont Gymnastics Academy.

The computer believed to hold these recordings was seized with assistance from the North Adams Police Department.

Detectives from the Bureau of Criminal Investigation conducted a subsequent investigation, which included digital forensics analysis that located evidence of the crime of voyeurism.

Girard, through his attorney, was issued a citation on Monday, Aug. 7, 2023, to answer to the charge.

He is due to appear for arraignment at 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 10, in the Criminal Division of Vermont Superior Court in Barre.

The investigation is ongoing, and no further details are available at this time.
