Waterbury man cited for assault in Moretown incident

MORETOWN — An altercation in Moretown led to a man being charged with simple assault, according to the Vermont State Police.

The incident took place at 1535 US Rt 2 in Moretown on June 20.

Troopers from the Berlin Barracks responded to a report of an unresponsive male as a result of an assault.

Upon arrival, their investigation revealed that 29-year-old Andrew Leno of Waterbury had struck 20-year-old Chadrick Reid of Moretown in the head during the altercation.

Reid was responsive when EMS arrived and was transported for further medical evaluation.

Leno was also transported by EMS to examine a possible ankle fracture.

Leno was subsequently issued a citation to appear in court for the charge of simple assault.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
