Motorcyclist arrested for reckless driving, clocked at 171 mph in Exeter

EXETER — A Florida man was arrested for reckless driving after being clocked at 171 mph on a motorcycle in Exeter on May 21.

At approximately 5:15 p.m., Troopers Brian Hanna and Seth Parker of the New Hampshire State Police Troop A barracks were conducting routine traffic enforcement.

Trooper Hanna initially clocked the motorcycle at 120 mph before it accelerated up to 160 mph.

Trooper Parker, positioned ahead of the motorcycle, was able to obtain a speed recording of 171 mph.

The operator was identified as Christopher Unghire, 36, of Port St. Lucie, Florida.

Unghire was charged with reckless driving, reckless conduct, and aggravated driving while intoxicated.

He was released on personal recognizance bail and is scheduled for arraignment in Hampton Circuit Court on June 1, 2023.
