Driver arrested for DUI after driving through cornfield in Coventry

COVENTRY — A 41-year-old man from Glover was arrested for DUI following an incident in Coventry early yesterday morning.

Authorities say they were notified that a vehicle had driven into a corn field on Messier Farm Road at around 1:40 a.m.

Police responded and met with the driver who was identified as Noah Meese.

While troopers were investigating, Meese displayed signs and indicators of impairment, police say.

He was placed under arrest for suspicion of DUI – drug.

Numerous substances were seized and sent to the Vermont Forensic Laboratory for identification, police say.

Meese was transported to the State Police Derby barracks for processing and was later released with a citation.
