PELHAM — Police are looking for the driver who hit a school bus in Pelham today.

Authorities say they were notified that a box truck drove through the extended stop sign of a school bus on Hayden Road at around 8:25 a.m.

The bus was actively picking up students and the truck struck its stop sign, then continued driving north toward Tallant Road.

A witness described the truck as a dirty, white, unmarked box truck with a young driver.

Police say nobody was injured but the sign was damaged slightly.

Officers checked the area and were unable to locate the box truck.

Corporal David DeRoche obtained surveillance footage from the school bus and was able to read the license plate.

He spoke with the registered owner of the box truck, confirmed its involvement, and identified the driver.

Police say they are still investigating the crash.
