MILTON — State police warned drivers yesterday to use extra caution on Interstate 89 after receiving multiple reports of a cow on the loose.

The cow was reportedly spotted in the roadway between mile markers 102 and 105, but police have been unable to locate the animal.

The reports came in throughout the day on Sunday, May 7.

Motorists were advised to call 911 if they spot the cow in the area.

Police say the incident caused traffic concerns for drivers on that stretch of the highway.

The Vermont State Police are continuing to investigate the situation and say they will update the public on any developments.
