LYNDONVILLE — A 48-year-old man from New York was arrested following an incident in Lyndonville yesterday.

Authorities say they were notified of an unknown man pulling a knife out and threatening to cut a woman on Pinehurst Street at around 3:30 p.m.

Police say the man left before they arrived.

After an investigation, police located the suspect at the intersection of Route 2 and Route 18 in St. Johnsbury.

The man provided two false names before ultimately being identified as Jermaine Taylor.

It was found that Taylor had a warrant for his arrest for aggravated assault.

Police say Taylor was taken into custody and during a search during the arrest found several wax baggies filled with suspected narcotics.

He was transported to the Lyndonville Police Department for processing and was lodged on his warrant for lack of $2,500 bail.

He was charged with criminal threatening, two counts of false information to police, and violating conditions of release.

Drug charges are pending once the suspected narcotics can be safely tested, police say.
