Single-vehicle crash with injuries in Leicester

LEICESTER — A 25-year-old man from Shoreham was injured during a single-vehicle crash in Leicester early this morning.

The crash took place on Swingington Hill Road, near the intersection with Cram Road, at around 2:15 a.m.

Police say there were in fact two vehicles involved, one of which fled the scene.

According to the report, Travis Hornbeck was traveling south on Swingington Hill Road while another vehicle was headed north.

The other vehicle crossed into the southbound lane, causing Hornbeck to leave the road and strike a tree.

Hornbeck was transported to UVM Medical Center with injuries.

Troopers were assisted on the scene by members of the Middlebury Police Department, Brandon Area Rescue Squad, and Salisbury Fire Department.
