Safe stolen during burglary in Derby

DERBY — The Vermont State Police are investigating a burglary that resulted in the theft of a safe containing various rare coins.

The burglary occurred on April 18, at the residence of William Rafferty on Shattuck Hill Road.

The victim, a 36-year-old resident of Derby, reported the incident to authorities.

According to the Vermont State Police, anyone with information on the incident is encouraged to contact the Derby Barracks at 802-334-8881.

No arrests have been made at this time.

The investigation remains ongoing, police say.
