READSBORO — Massachusetts State Police are investigating the death of a 2-year-old toddler after a crash early Saturday morning.
According to authorities in Clarksburg, Mass., the toddler died as his father, Darel A. Galorenzo, of Readsboro, Vermont, lost him in a brook while fleeing from the scene of an early morning crash.
Rescue workers pulled the boy from the brook where he was later pronounced dead.
Galorenzo was arrested by state police and determined to have been driving under the influence, according to authorities.
He has been charged with operating under the influence and negligent operation of a motor vehicle.
More charges are anticipated, according to state police.
The investigation is ongoing.
