ORLEANS — A 27-year-old man was arrested following an incident in Orleans early yesterday morning.

Authorities say they were notified that Samuel Barbeau, of Orleans, was outside, intoxicated, and breaking property that did not belong to him on First Avenue at around 2:00 a.m.

Police say Barbeau returned to his home and there was broken property scattered on the lawn.

Troopers waited for Barbeau to exit his home and attempted to take him into custody.

Police say Barbeau resisted arrest but was quickly taken into custody without injury.

He became irate while troopers were escorting him to a cruiser, yelling obscenities in a neighborhood late at night.

He was released to Northern State Correctional Facility for detox and issued a citation to appear in court for the charges of unlawful mischief, disorderly conduct, and resisting arrest
