Police ID man found dead in Jay as North Troy resident

JAY – The Vermont State Police are continuing to investigate the death of a 27-year-old man whose body was found off the side of the road in the town of Jay.

This afternoon police identified the man as Byron M. Camber, of North Troy.

Camber was found deceased at about 5:55 p.m. on Tuesday near the intersection of Gendron and Pine Grove roads.

There were no immediate signs of trauma on his body, police say.

Camber’s body was transported to the Chief Medical Examiner’s Office in Burlington for an autopsy to determine the cause and manner of death.

The results of toxicology testing are pending and could take several weeks to several months.

The investigation is ongoing and involves several agencies.
