CAMBRIDGE — A 52-year-old man was injured during a crash in Cambridge on Saturday.

Authorities say they were notified by an employee of Notch Road Automotive that they had located a vehicle on Edwards Road that had crashed into a power pole at around 10:30 a.m.

Police say they witnessed the driver leave the truck and enter a nearby home.

They found the vehicle unoccupied resting against a power pole that had been heavily damaged.

In the vehicle and on the scene there were indicators that the driver of the vehicle could be injured and contact was made with him at the nearby home.

The driver was medically evaluated on scene and then transported to Copley Hospital for further evaluation.

While Troopers were speaking with the driver, identifed as Richard Edwards, he displayed clear indicators of impairment, and alcohol is believed to be the primary contributing factor in this crash.

Troopers were assisted on the scene by Notch Road Automotive, Cambridge Fire and Rescue, the Lamoille County Sheriff’s Office, and Fish and Wildlife.

Police say further action is pending the results of toxicology reports.
