EXETER — A Newmarket man is facing charges of DUI following a crash in Exeter on Saturday.

On February 25, authorities were notified of a car crash on Court Street, near Elliot Street, at around 3:35 p.m.

An Exeter Police officer stationed at the Court Street crosswalk had heard the collision and made the report.

Responding officers found that a 2017 Dodge Ram had been traveling south and had crashed into the rear of a legally parked vehicle.

The force of the collision sent a chain reaction to the struck vehicle pushing it forward into another parked vehicle, and then that car into a third parked vehicle, and then on to striking a fourth.

Police say they determined that there was probable cause to arrest the driver and sole occupant of the Dodge Ram for DUI.

Edward Burke 73 years old, of Newmarket, NH, was placed under arrest.

He was later released on PR bail to appear in court on March 2.
