ROCHESTER — Police say a tractor-trailer was struck by a low-hanging wire in Rochester on Tuesday.

The incident took place on Route 11, in the area of the Market Basket Shopping Plaza, at around 8:30 p.m.

Police say that the 2000 Freightliner tractor with attached trailer, operated by Ashmir International, was traveling north when it struck the wire.

The roof of the trailer peeled rearward.

The vehicle was placed out-of-service due to extensive damage.
