NORTHFIELD — Northfield police are reminding the community that with the warm weather changes, an increase of thefts can occur.

These thefts can be from vehicles as well as homes.

To help deter these thefts a few friendly recommendations were released by the departmen:

Lock your doors to vehicles, homes, garages, etc.

If your car can not lock, remove anything valuable to deter someone from wanting to take it, this also includes anything easy to grab.

If they can see it they will take it.

Purchase cameras to place outside your residence, they can be found anywhere on line, game cameras also work.

Police are asking the community to call the department at 802-485-9181 to report anything suspicious or thefts.

If the dispatcher is not in, call 802-229-9191 and push 8 and ask to speak to the on duty Northfield officer.
