LYNDON — A 66-year-old man from St. Johnsbury was arrested in Lyndon on Sunday.

Authorities say they were patrolling the area of Broad Street at around 10:00 p.m when they observed an individual walking in the road, soliciting motorists, and hindering the flow of traffic.

Police say they made contact with the individual, identified as Richard Larocque.

During the investigation, police say they observed several signs of impairment and attempted to remove Larocque from the scene for his safety.

During the encounter, Larocque became threatening and combative toward troopers.

He was taken into custody and cited to appear in court on March 27 for the charges of disorderly conduct, and resisting arrest.

He was then transported to Northeast Correctional Complex for detox purposes.
