Two-vehicle crash with injuries in Waterford

WATERFORD — Police responded to a two-vehicle crash in Waterford yesterday.

The crash took place on Vermont Route 18 and Duck Pond Road at around 8:20 a.m.

Police responded to the intersection along with Waterford FD and Calex Ambulance.

One driver was identified as Jesse Williams, 30, of East Haven, and the other driver was identified as Joseph Healy, 55, of Waterford.

Due to the damage on the driver side of Williams’ vehicle, authorities had to use hydraulic rescue tools to remove him from the vehicle.

Williams was transported to NVRH to receive treatment for minor injuries.

Healy was uninjured in the crash.

Following an investigation, police say that Williams was traveling on Duck Pond Road and failed to yield to traffic on Vermont Route 18 when entering the intersection.
