LYNDONVILLE — The Lyndonville Police Department is warning local gun owners about state gun laws.

The department said they recently found vehicles parked at the Lyndon Town School lower fields with firearms visible inside.

“We would like to remind the public that it is unlawful to possess firearms, or cause them to be on any school grounds,” a statement issued by police reads.

Vehicles found on school property with firearms inside could be towed at owner’s expense.

Police say criminal charges could be filed against the owner of the firearm or vehicle.

The firearm could also be seized by the police department.
