JACKSON — A pig was rescued after blocking a Jackson, New Hampshire, ski trail on Monday.

The incident took place at the Windy Hill trail.

The local pig, whose name is Petunia, is back home after the ordeal thanks to the work of local police.

“This is truly a first for me,” the Jackson Police Department wrote on social media. “Received a call of a Pig blocking the XC ski trails!”

Police say they got the pig to cooperate by offering an apple to gain its attention.

Eventually, police were able to get her on a leash and led to safety.

“Petunia, you’re on the list,” police said after the rescue.
