NORWICH — A 44-year-old man from Hartford was cited following an incident in Norwich yesterday.

Authorities say they were notified of suspicious activity in progress on River Road at around 5:30 a.m.

Police say that the man attempted to steal a catalytic converter from a vehicle, but the action was interrupted by Dartmouth College Security Officers.

The suspect was identified as David H. Gilmore, who was located on the scene.

Police allege that Gilmore was in possession of regulated substances, and had violated the conditions of release when committing the crime.

He also had an active outstanding in-state warrant, and he was also responsible for a grand larceny theft in the town of Hartland.

He was transported to the Royalton State Police Barracks for processing and lodged at Southern State Correctional Facility.

He was cited to appear in court tomorrow.
