ST. JOHNSBURY — Police say an 81-year-old woman from Peacham suffered a medical event prior to a crash in St. Johnsbury on Thursday.

Authorities were notified of a vehicle on fire down an embankment near the Price Chopper on Memorial Drive at around 1:45 p.m.

Police say that Sharon Jones was in the Price Chopper parking lot waiting to merge onto Memorial Drive when she suffered a medical event.

The vehicle went across Memorial Drive and down the embankment on the other side of the road before coming to rest against a tree.
