Two-vehicle crash with injuries on Vermont Route 7, Charlotte

CHARLOTTE — Police responded to a two-vehicle crash with injuries in Charlotte yesterday.

The crash took place on Vermont Route 7 near Higbee Road at around 5:35 p.m.

One of the vehicles was driven by Cindy Peet, 77, of Cornwall, and the other by Amy Ligay, 49, of Charlotte.

According to the report, both vehicles were traveling south on Route 7.

Ligay was turning left onto Higbee Road when Peet attempted to pass Ligay to the left by driving into the northbound lane, colliding with her.

Both drivers and a passage in Peet’s vehicle were transported to UVM Medical Center for injuries.

Vermont Route 7 was shut down for approximately one hour.

Police were assisted by fire departments from Charlotte, Ferrisburgh, and Shelburne, as well as EMS from Charlotte, Shelburne, and UVM.
