Brattleboro man cited for stealing money, pills from a vehicle in Dummerston

DUMMERSTON — A 32-year-old man from Brattleboro was cited following an incident in Dummerston early this morning.

Authorities were notified of a man stealing items from inside a vehicle on Hague Road at around 1:25 a.m.

Police say the victim, Tracey Devlin, of Dummerston, was able to provide a license plate and vehicle description which they used to locate the vehicle. 

Police say they made contact with a passenger inside the vehicle identified as Corey Whidden, and following an investigation, it was found that he had stolen $24 dollars and a bottle of pills. 

Whidden continually yelled and swore in a public place after being told to stop, police say. 

He was released with a citation to appear in court to answer to the charge of petit larceny, and disorderly conduct.
