During the assault, James Castrogiovanni, 41, of Derby, sustained life-threatening injuries that caused him to be paralyzed from the chest down.

The incident occurred at Castrogiovanni’s residence at the Derby Mobile Home Park.

Investigators say Flowers Sr. and Flowers Jr. knew Castrogiovanni from previous interactions.

Both men are currently in federal custody on unrelated charges.
