Driver injured after being run off the road in Newfane

NEWFANE — A 34-year-old woman from Williamsville was involved in a crash in Newfane on Wednesday. 

Authorities were notified of a single-vehicle crash on Baker Brook Road at around 7:10 a.m.

The vehicle was located down a 50 foot embankment in a brook, and the driver was identified as Sarah Cassell. 

Police say Cassell suffered minor injuries as a result of the crash. 

She told police that a white truck with Vermont plates ran her off the road while going around a corner. 

Police say the vehicle originally stopped, but then took off. 

Anyone with information about this crash is being encouraged to call Vermont State Police Westminster barracks.
