NEWPORT — The Memphremagog Parade is getting ready to celebrate all the positive things going on this year along the shores of Lake Memphremagog.

The event will kick off at 6:00 p.m. Friday evening, on July 23.

Just a few of the causes for the celebration include the return of the Northern Star and open water swimming events to the lake, as well as all the hard work and results achieved by the Memphremagog Watershed Association.

Organizers say they are seeking the participation of individuals and organizations who offer annual events and activities, including athletic, recreational, musical, artistic, and social.

Or just come march with your pets as the parade will be offering prizes for the “best dressed” pets.

Prizes will also be awarded for the best costumes.

The event is being organized by Memphremagog Community Maritime, Kingdom Games, and Memphremagog Watershed Association.
