DERBY — The Dailey Memorial Library recently honored longtime board member Fran Batchelder as she ended her tenure.

During a monthly meeting the trustees, and the director of the library recognized Batchelder’s service over the years.

She served as a member of the board for 40 years.

She will still be active at the library and continue to volunteer at future fundraisers and events.

“She has brought energy, affection, and creativity to the Dailey Memorial Library and all are thankful,” the board said.

During a meeting today, the library announced that Brooke Bury and Heather Webster have joined the board.

They will both serve three-year terms.

Despite the pandemic, the library is open Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday and offers books, DVDs, and audiobooks for adults and children.

The Dailey was also one of 80 libraries in the state awarded a Connectivity Grant through the CARES Act.

They were able to purchase two Windows 10 laptop computers for patrons to use in the conference room or in the gazebo when weather permits.

The library says pandemic precautions are still in place and curbside pickup is available.
