ORLEANS — A 40-year-old woman from Orleans has been arrested after police say she used a stun gun on an employee at Maplefields during a robbery this morning.

Police were notified at around 6:30 a.m. that a store clerk had been the victim of a robbery.

The clerk reported that the suspect had stunned her multiple times with a taser-type electric stun gun.

The suspect fled the store on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Police responded to the scene and gathered evidence, including store surveillance video.

Investigators say they have identified Jenna Connelly as the suspect in this incident.

Connelly is also an employee of Maplefields but was off-duty at the time, police say.

Detectives say they took Connelly into custody this afternoon at the home of a relative and recovered evidence connected to the robbery.

The investigation is active and ongoing, and police say they are not sure if any other individuals were involved in the robbery.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call Detective Sgt. Clark Lombardi at 802-334-8881.
