Icy roads blamed for rollover crash in Irasburg

IRASBURG — A 68-year-old woman was transported to the hospital on Tuesday following a single-vehicle crash in Irasburg.

At around 8:00 a.m. the Vermont State Police were notified of the crash located on Vermont Route 14.

Police identified the driver as Gayla Mayo, of Irasburg.

According to the report, the woman was traveling south when she lost control of her vehicle on the ice, crossed left of center and rolled her vehicle into the ditch.

Mayo sustained what police describe as “minor, non-life threatening injuries,” and was transported to North Country Hospital.

The vehicle, a 2005 Ford Escape, was totaled in the crash.
