BARTON — On March 21, the Barton Incorporated School Board of Directors chose Kim Wheelock to be the next principal to lead their school after Bob Partridge’s retirement.

Her new assignment began July 1.

Wheelock says she is excited and honored to be working with such a dedicated staff, school board, and supervisory union.

Wheelock has taught English for 17 years after receiving her bachelor’s degree in secondary English education from Vermont College in 2000.

She received her master’s degree in K-12 literacy in 2013 from the University of New England, graduated the National Institute of School Leadership program in 2014, and received her curriculum administration and principal certification from Plymouth State University in 2015.

She is dual certified in Vermont and New Hampshire as a school principal and curriculum director.

“I have the highest respect for Bob, who has helped me with my transition and continues to be a great resource,” she said. “It has also been nice to receive welcoming e-mails and visits from staff, students, and parents.”
