Police investigating death in Norton

NORTON — Police are investigating the death of an 81-year-old man from Norton.

On Tuesday night, police responded to a 911 call of an injured person at a residence located at 2298 Vermont Route 114.

Police and EMT’s from Lyndon Rescue North found Leroy Patten, 81, dead inside the home from unknown causes.

The 911 caller was identified as 53-year-old Janelle Stanley, who lived at the residence with her father.

Police say Patten suffered from dementia and had accosted Stanley, becoming injured during the incident.

The Vermont State Police Major Crime Unit are currently investigating this death.

Patten’s body was taken for autopsy.
