WILKINSBURG, PA — A Pittsburgh man has been charged in connection with a fatal shooting.
At 8:42 p.m. on Jan. 13, County 9-1-1 was notified of a shooting in the 700 block of South Avenue.
First responders found an adult male in the roadway suffering from a gunshot wound to the head.
The victim was identified as John Jackson, 31, of Pittsburgh.
Jackson was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Wilkinsburg Police requested the assistance of the Allegheny County Police Department’s Homicide Unit and detectives initiated an investigation.
Through witness interviews and surveillance video, detectives identified a suspect as Jason Moran, 41, of Pittsburgh.
Moran is facing criminal homicide charges.
He was taken into custody on March 2 and taken to the Allegheny County Jail pending preliminary arraignment.
