HAMILTON TOWNSHIP, NJ — Two drivers were injured Sunday when their vehicles collided and overturned on Route 50.
The Township of Hamilton Police Department responded to the crash at approximately 9:34 a.m. in the area of Route 50 between Cedar Street and Birch Street at milepost 21.
A preliminary investigation revealed a 2010 Chevrolet Camaro driven by Jayden Mullen, 19, of Mays Landing, was traveling northbound on Route 50 when it collided with a 2009 Ford Ranger driven by William Narke, 81, of Mays Landing, who was also traveling northbound.
The two vehicles overturned after the initial impact and came to rest along the southbound shoulder of Route 50.
Both drivers received medical attention on scene.
Narke was transported to AtlantiCare City Division Trauma Unit for additional medical treatment.
The roadway was shut down for approximately two hours while the investigation was conducted.
Also assisting on scene were the Township of Hamilton Rescue Squad, AtlantiCare Paramedics and the Laureldale Fire Company.
The crash remains under investigation.
