Police said they reviewed video surveillance and spoke to inmates involved in the incident.

According to police, an inmate was lying on a bed when he was slapped multiple times by another inmate and later had water thrown on him by the same inmate.

The victim later was in a verbal altercation with three inmates when Lopez, who was not involved in the first dispute, punched the victim in the face causing a bloody nose, police said.

The altercation reportedly was over the victim inmate wanting to sleep and the others making too much noise.

The victim declined to prosecute the inmate involved in the first altercation.
