Man arrested on assault, drug charges in Long Beach Township

LONG BEACH TOWNSHIP, NJ — A Barnegat man faces multiple charges after a woman was assaulted at a hotel Monday.

The Long Beach Township Police Department responded to a report of an unwanted male at a hotel on Feb. 23, 2026.

Officers located a 20-year-old female who had been assaulted by a male while inside his hotel room.

The assault resulted in serious injuries to the female.

She received medical assistance from officers and the Beach Haven First Aid Squad.

Long Beach Township patrol officers, assisted by the department’s K-9 Unit, identified the alleged suspect.

Corey Mullin, 25, of Barnegat, was taken into custody without incident.

Mullin was charged with aggravated assault and criminal restraint.

Officers, with the assistance of the Long Beach Township Detective Bureau, executed a court-authorized search warrant of the hotel room.

As a result of the search, Mullin was additionally charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance with intent to distribute, possession of methamphetamine, possession of psilocybin mushrooms, possession of ketamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Mullin was processed and lodged at Ocean County Jail pending a detention hearing.
