Man arrested after standoff in Fryeburg

FRYEBURG, ME — A man was arrested following a brief standoff at his residence in the early morning hours of Feb. 24, 2026.

An officer with the Fryeburg Police Department attempted to conduct a motor vehicle stop on Lovell Road when Cory Robinson failed to stop for law enforcement, resulting in a short pursuit.

Robinson then fled into his residence and refused officers’ commands to exit.

Officers from the Conway Police Department and a K9 unit from the Bridgton Police Department responded to assist.

The standoff was resolved without further incident.

Robinson sustained a K9 bite during the arrest.

He was treated for the injury and transported to the Oxford County Jail, where bail will be set.

Robinson has been charged with failure to stop for a law enforcement officer, a Class E misdemeanor, and resisting arrest, a Class D misdemeanor.
