SULLIVAN COUNTY, NH — Two people have been arrested following an investigation into suspected online sexual exploitation of a minor, according to the Newport Police Department.
The investigation began in February after the department received a CyberTipline Report from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children regarding suspected activity on the MeetMe application.
Investigators used digital forensic techniques to trace the suspected activities to an apartment building at 32 Spring Street in Newport.
Madison Aldrich, 20, of Newport, was identified as a possible suspect.
Investigators made contact with Aldrich at her residence and seized electronic devices for forensic analysis.
Aldrich was arrested on Feb. 10 and charged with possession of child sexual abuse images, a Class A felony.
She was held at the Sullivan County House of Corrections without bail pending arraignment in the 5th Circuit Court – District Division – Newport.
Following the hearing, the court ordered Aldrich to continue to be held on preventive detention without bail.
Further investigation revealed an additional suspect in Vermont.
The Newport Police Department worked with the Vermont Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force and the Vermont Attorney General’s Office, resulting in the arrest of Alexander Henry of Wells.
Henry was charged with possession of child sexual abuse material and promoting a recording of sexual conduct.
The Newport Police Department is an affiliate agency of the New Hampshire Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force and received assistance from the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office and the Lincoln Police Department Cyber Crimes Laboratory.
