PALISADES PARK, NJ — Police Chief George Beck announced the arrest of Michael A. Cokley, 35, of Ridgefield, on charges of burglary and fraudulent use of a credit card on Feb. 21, 2026.
The arrest follows an investigation into an incident that occurred on Nov. 17, 2025, at approximately 4:58 a.m., involving the burglary of a vehicle parked near Commercial Avenue and Henry Street.
Stolen from the vehicle was approximately $200 in cash and a credit card.
The victim contacted police after receiving alerts regarding suspicious charges on her credit card.
Responding patrol officers gathered initial information and referred the case to the Detective Bureau.
Detective Matthew Carley led the investigation, utilizing home security footage that captured the incident.
Following the initial theft, the suspect attempted to use the stolen credit cards at several area businesses.
Through a detailed analysis of security footage and persistent field work, Detective Carley successfully tracked the suspect’s movements, resulting in an arrest warrant being issued for Cokley.
