IRONDEQUOIT, NY — Police are investigating a stabbing that occurred outside a plasma donation center Tuesday afternoon.
Irondequoit Police responded to Octapharma Plasma at 689 E. Ridge Road at approximately 1 p.m. for a report of a stabbing.
Officers determined that two adult male customers were engaged in a verbal dispute inside the business.
An employee escorted one man outside, and the second man followed shortly thereafter.
A physical altercation then occurred near the front entrance of the building.
During the altercation, the victim was stabbed with a pocket knife in the abdomen and bicep.
Officers located the suspect, a 40-year-old Rochester resident, in the parking lot and took him into custody without incident.
An on-site nurse immediately rendered first aid to the victim until emergency medical personnel arrived.
The victim, a 40-year-old Rochester resident, was transported to Strong Memorial Hospital for treatment.
His injuries are considered non-life-threatening.
The suspect was transported to Rochester General Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
The investigation remains ongoing.
Charges are pending against the suspect.
