TEANECK, NJ — A man was arrested on multiple narcotics distribution charges following a six-month investigation by the Teaneck Police Department Anti-Crime Unit.
Chief Andrew R. McGurr announced the arrest of Justin Bennett, 45, of Teaneck, on charges stemming from the investigation into illegal narcotics distribution in the township.
Members of the Anti-Crime Unit identified Bennett as a target of the investigation and developed evidence linking him to the illegal sale of controlled dangerous substances.
On Tuesday, the Teaneck Police Department, with assistance from the Bergen County Regional SWAT Team, executed a Superior Court-authorized search warrant at Bennett’s residence.
The search resulted in the discovery of evidentiary items indicating Bennett’s involvement in the production and sales of crack cocaine.
Bennett was charged with maintaining a CDS production facility, a first-degree offense; possession with intent to distribute cocaine, a second-degree offense; possession with intent to distribute cocaine within 1,000 feet of a school zone, a third-degree offense; money laundering, a third-degree offense; distribution of drug paraphernalia, a fourth-degree offense; and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Bennett was also charged with a prior illegal narcotics sale that occurred in August: distribution of cocaine, a third-degree offense, and distribution of cocaine within 1,000 feet of a school zone, a third-degree offense.
Bennett was processed and transported to the Bergen County Corrections and Rehabilitation Center.
