Woman arrested on DWI charge in Halfmoon

HALFMOON, NY — A woman was arrested on drunken driving charges following a single-vehicle crash early Saturday morning.

The Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office responded to a motor vehicle crash at 12:54 a.m. on Clamsteam Road in the town of Halfmoon.

Leah F. Tracy, 22, of Albany, was charged with driving while intoxicated and operating a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol content of 0.08% or greater, both unclassified misdemeanors.

She was also charged with speed not reasonable and prudent and moving from lane unsafely, both infractions.

Tracy is accused of operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated with a blood alcohol content of 0.16%.

She is also accused of driving at a speed greater than was reasonable and prudent under the circumstances and failing to drive entirely within a single lane.

Tracy was reportedly traveling north on Clamsteam Road when she lost control of her vehicle and struck a utility pole off the eastern side of the roadway, splitting it in half and causing downed wires.

No other persons or vehicles were involved and no injuries were reported.

Tracy was released on appearance tickets pending proceedings in Halfmoon Town Court.
